Show 8 MAY 31, 1952 THE JOURNAL Boys Prepare Calves lor Stock Shows 4-- H The new and Improved Army Signal Corps field telephone set developed by the Bell Laboratories can be operated while wearing Arctic mitts and, because it is specially shaped at the ear piece, can be used without removing the helmet. It has many other features which are described in the accompanying article. Davis county club youths who have fed and grooved their calves in anticipation of Utah stock shows held a preview showing of their entries recently at Davis high school under the direction of their leaders and County Agent Delore Nichols. Purpose of the exhibition was to assist the boys in the know-hoof showing their calves as well as giving the calves themselves a little experience in the art of parading before the judges. Several of the youths entered the Plain City show May 13 while others are awaiting the Intermountain Junior Stock show on June 4 and 5 in North Salt Lake. Committee members who scheduled the Davis showing included Sam Tayor, West Print, chairman, assisted by Olene Whitaker, Kaysville, and Dean Montgomery, Clinton. Both dairy and beef calves were featured. Clubs from Woods Cross, Bountiful Kaysville, Syracuse, West Point and Clinton participated. 4-- H w YOU'RE TELLING ME!
