Show r THE JOURNAL 0 Kaysville AAUW COUNTY FAIR IS Long Winter Hear Speaker Ends For PLANNED KAYSVILLE Mrs. George W. Ranch Owner Worthen, Provo, state chairman of the American Association of University Women, was guest speaker at a meeting of the Kaysville branch, AAUW Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Richard Barber. Mrs. Barber was assisted in entertaining the group by Mr. Noall Hyde and Mrs. Hannah Jarman. Mrs. Richard Hendrickson, chairman of the Status of Women committee of the local branch, was in charge of the meeting which was built around her committees work. Prior to the general session, executive board of the group held a meeting presided over by Mrs. Casper Carroll, president. Salt Lake Glad Meets Group CLEARFIELD A meeting of the Salt Lake Gladiolus society will be held Tuesday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the recreation room on the third floor of the city and county building in Salt Lake City, according to Maurine Stauffer, secretary of Clearfield. The program is especially planned for early growers with special emphasis on glad culture. Miles Labrum, president of the society, and two other well known growers will speak. The Salt Lake society is an organization covering the growers - Whats the FOR AUG. 22-2- 3 FARMINGTON Dates of the annual Davis County Fair has been changed from August 29 and 30 to August 22 and 23, members of the executive fair committee announced following a meeting Tuesday night at the court house. The action was taken due to the later August dates conflicting with fairs of nearby counties and also because weather conditions are usually better earlier in the month. The earlier dates are also conflicting with rush harvesting. Members of the fair executive committee, a new feature of the fair board, are as follows: Eugene commissioner, Tolman, county chairman; DeLore Nichols, county Agent, vice chairman; Mrs. Chester C. Flint, Kaysville vice chairman; LaVar Godfrey, Kaysville, secretary, and the following members: Mrs. Lloyd Burningham, Bountiful; Mrs. Delmas Shetley, Layton; Mrs. Karma P. Swindle, home demonstration agent; M. P. Leonard, county commissioner and Amasa R. Howard, county com- in the state. The group meets once a month to study the growing and marketing of gladiolus. At future meetings slides will be shown and plans made for the Glad show held in August.
