Pac!c Up By ALICE DENHOFF THERES nothing, but nothing, so delightful as that first picnic that serves as an introduction to summer outdoor living and activities. As are the first strawberries, the first roses in the garden, the first glimpse of blossoms on a fruit tree, the first picnic is hailed with glee. It doesnt have to be elaborate fare, there doesnt have to be one of those snooty, picnic baskets. Just good food, well packed, and plenty of it! Then its away for that favorite spot. Later on, come the barbecues, but for the nonce, lets make the first picnic, paCkable fodder. Picnic Is Fun A sandwich picnic is fun, easily prepared and toted. Baked bean sandwiches, minced vegetable sandwiches, corned beef ealad sandwiches, pickles, celery, fruit, layer cake and beverage add up nicely. Another favorite basket is brimming over with meat loaf sandwiches, cream cheese and jelly sandwiches made with raisin bread, stuffed eggs, olives, radishes, lettuce hearts, and for dessert, fruit tarts and beverage. Crabmeat sandwiches on white bread, tongue and cheese on rye, lettuce hearts, radishes and olives, orange ice box cookies, cake and beverage equipped is another good choice. pocket size. UTAH OICIRIFINING Whatever the menu, we always pack chewing gum, hard lemon, lime and orange candies for extra refreshment.
