Mrs. Simmons is the former Elizabeth Ellison. A baby boy, according to word from Dallas, Tex., was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Swanner. Mrs. Swanner is the former Ruth Galley daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Gailey. Mr. and Mis. Leo Ware are the proud grandparents of a 7 lb. 13 oi. baby girl born May 7 at Frankfort, Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Harrison are the proud parents. Mrs. Edna Mae Smedley entertained her club at her home Thursday. Dr. and Mrs. Preston Cutler and family are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford E. Wiggill. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Adams entertained a few relatives at their home Wednesday evening. The Layton Literary club was held Thursday eevning at the homq of Mrs. Robert Green. Richard Humphreys was taken to an Ogden hospital o.Mnday for an operation. Mrs. Artell Chandler entertained the following at her home Wednesday. Mrs. Claud Perkins is ill at her home. Mrs. Ruth E. Layton, widow of Orson Layton will hold open house at her home in West Layton, Sunday, May 22 from 2:30 to 9 p.m in honor of her 81st birthday an niversary. Mrs. Lavton was born May 22, 1868 at Eden, Utah, the daughter of James and Bodily. On Nov. 22, 1888 she was married to Mr. Layton in the Logan temple Mrs. Layton has resided in the same house for 61 years. An active member of the Layton Second ward. Bishop and Mrs. Frank Hicken-loope- r and Mrs. Josephine Bird of Woods Cross spent a few days in Boise. Ida. last week due to the illness of their sister. Mrs. Lettie Brown Claude Perkins has been ill at his home a few davs last week. Charles Kellogg,' Irvin Call and Jesse Rasmussen were the speakers at the Iayton Second ward Sunday eening Mr and Mrs Claud Perkins en tertained with dinner Saturday for Mr and Mrs Henry Leigh and family of Bountiful. Phillip R Young, son of Mr and Mrs Phillip Young, Layton was reported as in "good condition at the Cooley hospital in Brigham City where he was taken and is being treated for a fractured leg when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car driven by Myron Stevenson, 19, Ogden about 6 15 pm. Saturday north of Willard. Mr. Stevenson wasnt injured Layton Fourth ward entertained with dinner in the Layton amusement hall Wednesday evening to help raise funds for their new chapel, Kithrjn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Harold Ellison, celebrated her 9th birthday, Monday. A large number of Layton relatives attended funeral services in Tremonton, Monday, which were held for Mrs. Alvin Evans, former resident of Layton L. E.
