At this meeting she received top honors which entitled her to enter the National con test. .At this meeting students from five states participated Nevada, Idaho, W yoming, Colorado and Utah. She was one of eleven to receive first division honors out of seventy five pianists which participated in the contest, and one out of two from Utah. Her contest number was Franz Liszts Etude. She is a pupil of Miss Becky Almond of Salt Lake City. r . The Layton American Legion auxiliary entertained at a tea Friday afternoon in the Layton town hall, to honor the Gold Star Mothers and mothers of the World war veterans. Mrs. Ed Layton, president, extended welcome to more than 60 guests. Refreshments were served from a table covered with a Point Venitian cloth, centered with a bowl of tulips in pastel shades and purple narcissus. It was lighted with five tall pink and beige candles which formed a backViolets ground for the center-piecwere arranged at the base of the candles. Baskets of violets were arranged around the hall Mrs. Golden S. Layton poured. The following program was presented: Vocal solos by Mrs. Clarence Waterfall and Bob Stevenson. A tribute to mpthers by Mrs. Albert Bartoi clarinet solo by John II. Adams, recitation Lucy Rigby, accordion by Bee Whitesides, accompanied by Mrs. Elburn Dixon.
