Sterling News Driefs During a drive through the entire east side of Manti, 45 areas were noted which present serious fire threat to homes and valuable property. This does not include old buildings and the inner part of city blocks. The west side is Just as bad. The areas on the west side are larger, however and not as many homes are Involved. With our limited supply of water and a good wind we could face a serious situation. It is unlawful for citizens to do any kind of burning without a permit, so call fire chif Drew Merriam, or assistant chief Kim Larsen, if you wish to have the fire department burn weeds for you. The cost is only $15.00 per lot for expenses of equipment. We are grateful for those of you that mow and remove weeds before they are allowed to become hazards.
