Olsen Tilby Funeral services for Selma Augusta Olsen Tilby, 90, who died April 13, 1981, in a Salt Lake nursing home, were held in the Grant Eighth LDS Ward, Salt Lake City, on April 17, 1981. Interment was in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Tilby was born in Ephraim, Utah, on December 2, 1890, to Jorgen E. and Karen Ross Olsen. She married Osrow L. Tilby on June 12, 1912, in Manti, Utah. The marriage was later eternalized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Tilby died October 30, 1980. An active member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Tilby served as first counselor in the Grant Eighth Ward Relief Society presidency and was a visiting teacher for over 60 years. She is survivied by sons Cliffton L., Salt Lake City; Jerry R. Britton, Bountiful; eight grandchildren and 13 She was preceded in death by two daughters, Bernice Una Tilby and Faye T. Cahooon. Graveside services were held Tuesday in the Manti Cemetery, with Bishop Lee Anderson conducting, under the direction of the Buchanan Mortuary. Bishop Anderson gave the family prayer at the mortuary. Bill Bown was speaker at the graveside, and Preston Bown dedicated the grave. Travis W, Barney Funeral services for Travis W. Barney, who died oh April 18, 1981, in a Provo hospital, were held April 21, 1981, in the Spring City Ward chapel. Burial with military honors was in the Spring City Cemetery. Mr. Barney was born on Sept. 19, 1922, in Spring City, Utah, to Lynn Sidney and Jennie Watson Barney. He married Helen Ida Harrison in Elko, Nev., on Sept. 15, 1947. The marriage was later eternalized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and a World War II veteran. Mr. Barry is survived by his wife, one son and three daughters, Linda Dahl, Jerry Ann Nunley, Susan Aiken, all of Spring City; Dean Barney, Indianola; 17 grandchildren; three ball. Mr. Olsen was born on January 27, 1914, in Ephraim, Utah, to James Andrew and Katie C. Olsen. He attended Ephraim High School, Snow College and Utah State University. He married Merle Barrus on October 12, 1938, in the Logan LDS Temple. An active member of the LDS Church, Mr. Olsen had served in several church positions. At the time of his death he was a High Priest in the Logan Eleventh Ward. He had served with his wife on two agricultural missions for his church in recent years. Mr. Olsen was employed by the federal . government for 36 years as a soil scientist and land classifier. Since his retirement in 1974, he had worked primarily as a soils consultant on projects throughout the western United States. Mr. Olsen is survived by his wife, four daughter and four sons, Mrs. C. LaVel (Colleen) Davis, Austin, Texas; Merlin J., San Marino, Calif.; L. Gark, Weiser, Idaho; Mrs. Roy (Gwen) Saltern, Logan; Phillip V., Fountain Valley, Calif.; Winona Pacifica, Calif.; Mrs. Whit- Ralph (Ramona) aker, South Jordan; Orrin J., Blue Springs, Mo.; 32 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren; brothers, J. Arthur, Rupert, Idaho; Roland K., Ephraim; sisters, Mrs. Dee A. (Nita) Bach Peterson, Granger; Mrs. Lenn C. He loved the outdoors, work, and yard with fishing, working animals. On Feb. 1, 1973, he was admitted to Mayfield Manor, where he resided until his death. He is survived by two sisters, Erna Larsen, Manti; Elnore Lightfoot, California; and a brother, Carl Borup, Florida. Funeral services for Lynn Jay Olsen, 67, 210 Road, Canyon Logan, Utah, who died on April 17, 1981 in a Logan hospital, were held in the Logan Eleventh-Thirteent- h Ward chapel on April 21, 1981. Interment was in the Logan City Cemetery. Pleasant. She will be named Ellen Joy McAllister. She has two sisters, Mairi Ann and Cindy, and one brother, Scott Nielson McAllister. Jillian Treta Shand Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shand (Margaret Madsen) are the proud parents of their third daughter. She was born April 5 at the Sanpete Valley Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. and her name will be Jillian Treta. She was welcomed home by her two sisters, Sherri 4, and Jamie 2. He grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Madsen and Mrs. Jack Shand of Manti. She also has a greatgrandmother, Mrs. Edna Bardsley of Orem, Utah.
