Manti News Driefs Obituaries Jerry Jr, Loyal Draper ' Two somewhat new Manti businesses are joining forces in a housing development that could have a major impact on the industry in Sanpete County. Skycap Builders, Inc., which is engaged in general contracting, has obtained the dealership for Interstate Homes in Sanpete County. Jerry and Mary Bradley, doing business as Jerry and Mary Custom selling Homes, who have been Interstate Homes in Sanpete County for several years, will now work with Skycap Builders as sales agents for the dealership. The Bradleys have sold 36 Interstate homes in the Sanpete County area since they organized their sales agency in 1977. Our customers have apparently been very happy with their Interstate homes, Mary Bradley, a partner in the agency, said because many of our sales have resulted from referrals given us by Interstate owners. e Skycap Builders will do the construction, handle quality control and be responsible for other phases of the dealership, Jay Cluff, a Skycap partner, said. Skycap Builders was organized as General Welding and Fencing in Manti in 1974 and engaged in fencing and steel welding and fabrication. The company, with Denny Harmon, Rick Christensen and Jay Cluff as the principals, is now engaged in general construction. It has built mobile classrooms, commercial buildings and other stuctures in Sanpete and other central Utah counties. We feel we are well qualified for a the housing operation on both construction and selling ends," Mr. Cluff said. Skycap built a 10,000 foot facility on Manti s south side two years ago to on-sit- house its construction activities. However, Skycap and Jerry and Mary Custom Homes will have office space on the ground floor of the building at 158 South Main in Manti adjacent to Mr. Bradleys music store, "We feel fortunate in having obtained the Sanpete dealership for Interstate Homes," Mr. Cluff said. "We obtained it in competition with several other firms which were anxious to have it. "We also feel fortunate to be able to work in partnership with the Bradleys, who have been very successful with their sales agency and have established a good reputation for service to their clients. Mrs. Bradley said that the combined dealership-sale- s agency has some lots available for housing and can arrange for others. Interstate Homes, Inc., a Utah firm, has been in operation for several years and is located at 1840 South, 700 West, in Salt Lake City. It now has 160 floor plans available to its customers and is also able to make some extra changes to suit Interstate buyers. Truck Thief Is Sentenced Even Topeka, Kansas isnt a safe place to hide out with a truck stolen from Sterling, Utah, a young truck thief has learned. Gerald M. Gibb, 19, received a sentence last Wednesday in the court of Judge Don Tibbs which tempered punishment with restitution to the persons from whom the truck was stolen. Gibb was sentenced to serve an additional two weeks in the Sevier County jail, after which in order to be released he must demonstrate that he has a job waiting for him. He was also fined SI, 000, a figure probably close to what it cost to bring him back from Topeka, Kansas, where he was apprehended driving the stolen truck. In addition, Gibb must make full restitution to those from whom he stole the truck. Gibb was also told that at any time he was out of work for more than seven days, he would be returned to jail to serve the remainder of his sentence.
