CENTERVILLE This is the dauntless spirit of the American family: Mother carries on the household responsibilities from her wheel chair; father in the South Seas on a mission for his church; two daughters in the service of their country, a younger sister at home carrying on. Mrs. Thurza Adams, stricken with partial paralysis after an operation 16 years ago, has completely rehabilitated herself. She is justifiably proud of what she says is her contribution to her country. Her three daughters. First Lt. Ruth Adams of the A N C is with the Third division of General Pattons army in Germany, following the front lines and giving first aid. She is supervisor of the surgery division of the evacuation hospital unit. She received her training at Bushnell hospital in Brigham City, enlisted in December, 1942, and in September, 1943, went to Oregon where she received training in the evacuation unit. From there she went to England, arriv- ing in March, 1944. First Lt. Beth Adams of the Womens army corps is stationed at Hendricks field, Fla. As head sales officer, she was the only lady officer invited recently to attend conference of that division. Lt. Adams received her training at Des Moines, Iowa, and in Massachusetts. It will be three years in September since she joined the army. Fae Lela Adams, 19, although not in the service, makes it possible for the rest of the family MRS. ADAMS to serve. She takes care of her mother and is employed by the Utah Oil Company. She buys bonds every month, to bring her sisters home again, and sends them parcels nearly every week. Mrs. Adams hobby is sending birthday greetings to friends and relatives and writing to the service men. She does typing and sewing, and taught in the Relief Society for four years, until this year. Her husband, John Q. Adams, is mission president of the Samoan Islands. He has been away for two years and expects to be there for the duration. jiisl Deseret News about one of our best loved Lt.
