We made the sojourn on the actual Memorial Day, placed flowers on the graves of ancestors who had gone on before , and learned a wee bit of the history of their lives. We went back to the ranch and had a picnic after all the pomp and circumstance. There was always the master of ceremonies and the guest speaker who went on forever at the podium. I got in trouble one time for making faces at the dignitaries, and once I took my shoes off and went wading in the fountain. I long for those days of yesteryear this day as I pen this, but that cannot be. May the souls of those gone on before rest in peace! Be prepared for something, because it is in all reality going to take the rescue personal 156 hours to reach some neighborhoods.
