We ha e a w hole generation being raised without communication skills, says Jacquie Ream, former teacher and authot ot K.l S S A ct p It Short and Simple (Book Publishes Netwoik). She contends text messaging and the internet are destroying the way our kids read, think, and w rite. She suggests reading the same book your teenager is reading then try ing to open a dinner table conversation about the plot of that novel. Ream says writing is a skill that can be learned. Her book, K.I.S.S. Keep It Short and Simple, lays out a formula she says makes writing easier: Teach your kids to organize their thoughts on paper; compare the subject with others to show how the ideas are similar; contrast the subject with others to show how the isn't Nite Mexican Night, Katzz, 4 p.m. Weekly Activities Center May 15 Pen Pal 1 etters, Game 1 Party, Harmoni Mondays Day Brown Bag delivery, Time lai t hi. 8. 15 ..t Basic Internet Class, 10 1 A.M.
