The Utah Arts Council (UAC) announced today the 2006 Visual Arts Fellowship recipients. The UAC annually awards two fellowships in the amount of $10,000 to recognize, encourage and promote excellence in the visual arts. This years recipients are Amy Caron (Salt Lake City) and Kaiti Slater (Coalville). We are delighted to provide these awards to established Utah visual artists who are committed to their discipline and demonstrate outstanding artistic achievement, said executive director of the Utah Arts Council, When Hunt. Richard Wilkins, who is a Dickens scholar and purist as well and has played Scrooge in HCTs annual production of A Christmas Carol for the past 22 years, will present a reading Dec. 26 at 8 The performance will p.m. include special insight and commentary on Dickens and each of his characters. The reading will be staged rehearsal in HCTs te 140-se- at theatre. He went on to play Peter Cratchit at Promise Valley Playhouse at the age of 10, and first played Scrooge three years later in a middle school production. Wilkins starred in and Scandinavia.
