Several parents have called me to voice them conthe cern about test. Unfortunately. it is the law and students will have to pass it, ev en if it does take sev eral attempts The district is offering special classes to help those w ho are hav ing difficul- ty Several of the students who have taken the test have discussed the difficulty or ease of the test Some said the test questions were confusing and questioned the value of it when they entered the work place. I have had a similar incident that has happened to me these past several weeks. I decided to get my real estate license and have heard about how hard the test vv as. but that it had to be passed in order to sell homes. You could also take it as many times as you needed until you passed. Well. took the required classes and found the sample test questions that the real estate school provided to be confusing and peculiar. I thought that if that was how the "real" test would be, I would surely fail My apprehension reached levels higher than Mount Everest' As the day approached for the taking of the state test. 1 studied hard but the thought of the test was giving me severe "brain" damage 1 thought about the students w ho had been giv en their ow n state test and the mandate of passing and the consequences of not passing I felt the pangs of apprehension that they might have felt also I had hear trom so manv people that the things you needed to pass the real estate test would never be used again, but you just had to 1 Weeks Judy know the facts and that w as it I thought, I wonder about the students and if that was how they felt. I hope the material in the test has real life application. 1 traveled to Orem Friday, the test. Unlike the UBS ST test where you hav e to vv ait for vv eeks for the results. I w as able to find out immediately that I passed' It has been a very rewarding learning experience for me and I hope the students who take them test next year can say the same thing For those who think that summer has only begun. 1 have some sad news The beginning of school for stu- dents going to school begins on Tuesday.
