Both Eldon and Shirlee graduated from Cyprus High School in Magna. Eldon served in the US Army in Anchorage, Alaska. Shirlee was able to live there with him and their first child was bom there. In addition to raising their family, Eldon worked for Kennecott Copper for 42 years. Eldon is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Cyprus Credit bfye Union, a post he has held for 30 years. Eldon has also held many church callings including Bishop of the Spencer 2nd Ward. Shirlee worked for Granite School District for 29 years, including 23 years at the Jones Center where she taught special education. Shirlee has also held many church callings including president of several w ard and stake auxiliaries. Shirlee is currently serving as captain of the Oquirrh camp. The Nye's have lived in their current home in Magna for 48 years. They are the parents of five children: Karen (Gavin) LeBaron, Kenneth (Vickie) Nye. Cindy (Steven) Seager.
