The second annual Faculty Showcase concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts, 1250 E. 1700 South. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 Ten Poets for children and students, and free to students with a current Westminister College ID card. Faculty members participating are Mary Ann Dresher, mezzo soprano; Karlyn Bond, piano; Todd Woodbury, guitar; Christopher Quinn, piano; Tom Baron, violin; Lissa Hepner Wildman, flute; Douglas Kinney Frost, piano; Roberta Shimensky, piano; Cheryl Hart, soprano; and Marjorie Janove, piano. and a Band' Sept. The ASUU Presenters Office Coffeehouse presents Ten Poets and A Band, featuring local poets who have recently performed nationally and others who are just starting to make a name for themselves in the world of poetry slams and performance competitions. During the tour in Salt Lake City, Daynes Music will host a variety of events. The Crown Jewels will be on display Sept. 18 and 19 at Abravanel Hall in downtown Salt Lake City. During that event, Abravanel will host two performances by Steinway artist Misha Dichter at 8:30 p.m. each day. A Crown Jewel piano also will be on display at Decondes fine furniture store at 270 E. 100 S. in Salt Lake City for the duration of the tour, while the remaining Crown Jewels will be seen in the Daynes showroom. Fixtures and furnishings for the new Hale Centre Theatre will be purchased from R.C. Willey Home Furnishings, it was announced this week. The furnishings will be purchased by West Valjey City at a cost not to exceed $34,000, according to a resolution passed by the WVC City Council. Construction and furnishing the new facility is the obligation of West Valley City in a joint agreement with owners of Hale Theatre. The new Hale Centre Theatre exterior is nearly completed and the interior of the facility -- - which will be among theatres in the United States -- - will be completed later this month, according to Sally Dietlein, .
