Swimmers participating in the meet were: Danny Bradley, Todd Bradley, Brittany Davis, Erin Ekstrom, Thomas Ekstrom, Michael Ferry, Chad Fong, Jared Fong, and Jaren Hayes. Swimmers also included: Brandon Collin McClellan, McClellan, Bryce Okelberry, Ryon Okelberry, Kyle Olsen, Adam Prows, Amber Prows, Joshua Prows, Jason Ray, Jason Richards, 11-- and 21 which involved 536 swimmers from across the state. Jared Fong and Brittany Davis took 1st place overall in the boys age group. Todd Bradley took 2nd place overall in the boys, while Erin Ekstrom took 4th place overall in the girls. A flag pole will be erected at the site and the area will be landscaped. Inspiration for the memorial, according to Kent Goble, is Captain Humbert Roque "Rocky" Versace, a Special Forces officer captured by die Viet Cong in 1963 and subsequently executed by his captors in 1965. Kent Goble is representing the cemetery on the flag committee and Richard Forrester is representing the volunteers. The committee is encouraging individuals, families and groups to 'Adopt a Flag' by donating $10.00 to the project. A fund has been set up at Cyprus Credit Union for donations. The money will be used to purchase additional flags to be flown with the 35 the group now has. Flag project sponsors plan to allow groups, families or individuals to select a flag and raise it in honor of someone they wish to remember. A fee or donation to the flag project may be asked to help t. raise additional funds for the Cemetery, will continue to grow according to volunteers involved with the project.
