The Granite School District Board of Education approved a recommendation for the ' price increase at its July 11 meeting. Despite the increase, Granites lunches remain the least expensive in the state. It is the first increase in the price of school lunch in four years. Several factors influenced the recommendation, including increased wages for lunch program workers, increased food and supply costs, and the expectation of receiving a lower level of government commodities. The price will be 80 cents at the elementary level, 90 cents at junior high schools, and $1 at high schools.
