Let us admit that we live in a win at all costs world whether you speak to athletics, business, or love. Cheating is the battle cry on almost every front Just as there are those who . will smuggle drugs across the border and rig the stock market, there are also those who will pad the grade-poiaverages and alter the transcripts. The pressure to win has turned the head of many a coach and college president Eager alumni with fat wallets and few scruples have leaped to the aid of their beloved alma maters, determined to make them winners. ex-bi- Snow depths half of normal nt It has been said in the coaching fraternity that they will fire you quicker Snow course readings for the Salt Lake Valley area were accomplished April 23-2reports Max Phillips, Soil Conservation Service, Midvale. Their tantrums on the court and field resemble the tirades of an undisciplined child who docs not get his way. As it is written, even coaches and children are known by their doings. The recent national championship won by die basketball team from Indiana is witness to my point. The Indiana team played well under great duress. It was their coach (Bobby Knight) whose behavior cracked under pressure. He throws chairs across basketball arenas. He smashes phones with his fist, blasts his players continually, and berates the officials with a constant flow of biting criticism. He has offended half the country, but while so doing, he has won three national championships. Many people call him coach, but few label him a nice guy. The work is expected to take approximately six months to complete. They should be aware, however, that the haul trucks will also be crossing 2100 South near the Blackrock Interchange and flaggers will be directing traffic there as well. This work is being done in an effort to protect against the record-hig- h waters of the Great Salt Lake.
