At the luncheon, special awards will be presented to outstanding persons in the Law for community Enforcement, Legislative, Judiciary, Citizenship and Humanitarian. Sunday will be a general session. , Planned For Solar Eclipse l -- The American Institute of Aeronautics Astronautics and the Hansen and Planetarium have arranged to fly 96 people to a total solar eclipse aboard a chartered United Airlines Boeing 727 jet aircraft, departing Salt Lake City Utah at 8 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on February 26, 1979. After viewing and photographing the eclipse at 8:15 a.m. Pacific Standard Time that same morning from an altitude of 35,000 feet Walla above Walla, Washington, the participants will fly on to Seattle, Washington, for a tour of the Boeing Companys Renton If the usual February weather conditions prevail, the observers on the ground will have their view of the eclipse hidden by clouds and only those observers aboard the aircraft will see the eclipse. The price of the expedition will be $199 per person. All Scout leaders from the six wards of the stake are invited to attend and receive on scout instruction leadership skills. David Campbell, foe guest speaker, is very active in foe scouting program. He is at the Scouting present Division Advancement Chairman for the Great Salt Lake Council. He is also a Stake President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Da- y Saints. Along with Mr. Campbell there will be two young men speakers. Larry Howard and Allen Christensen who have to both been chosen foe at stake the represent International World Scout in Dalecarlia, Sweden near Stockholm from July 15-2- 1979. L Each ward is invited to set up a model camp exhibit for that evening. BISHOP RICHARD AMOS blows out candles at Hunter Second Ward birthday party. Ward Celebrates Birthday 500 HUNTER Nearly people met at the Hunter Second Ward Friday night to celebrate the twenty-sixt- h birthday of the ward. When the ward was formed in 1947 it encompassed the area from 4800 to 5600 West between 2100 and 4700 South. That area now is two stakes and twelve wards. All of the former bishops except one were present for foe celebration and he was represented by his former counselors. The former bishops are E. Verne Breeze, Wendell J. Jones, John W. Nielson, Jr., Raymond G. Anderson, J. Leonard Judkins, and the present bishop is Richard A. Amos. A roast beef dinner was served on the direction of the present Relief Society headed by presidency Dorothy Nielson. All of the organizations joined in foe preparations and the cleaning up. Emceeing the program were Jaunita Smith and Dean Farnsworth. They styled the program after an old radio flashback program. Various ward members, past and present, sang and performed. Clark Rushton showed slides taken during ward activities through the years. The highlight of the program was when Bishop Amos was called upon to blow out the candles on a large tiered Birthday cake. A few trick candles kept him returning for another try at extinguishing the tiny flames. To cap the evening a cascade of balloons was released from the ceiling.
