Why are some, though relatively lacking in material wealth, or nature's physical endowments, nevertheless cheerful and capable of enjoying every day? The experts tell us the happy individual has developed a sound philosophy of life. That means, as we see it, a philosophy which takes into consideration all we have to be thankful for. All of us in America should be grateful. We have freedom, opportunity. We have material wealth. We have freedom of worship. And we have a strong and prosperous country. Trivia if not kept in perspective can dominate one's thoughts and crowd out of ones personality the thankfulness and humble appreciation for the blessings we enjoy. The key to contentment and happiness, then, is found in the state of mind not the state of the bank account.
