The evening will start with a cocktail hour at 7:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 8:00 and dancing. A spring theme will be used in the decorations. The event was held Friday evening at Hotel Utahs Empire Room, given by the Utah Opera Fan3, headed by Mrs. Mervyn S. San- ders, president. For the occasion, the Empire Room assumed a musical air. Focal point of the decor was the grand piano, which held an arrangement of gilt figurines, gilt musical instruments, as well as fuchsia plumes and pink roses. Matching plumes and tall fuchsia tapers in gold candelabra centered the individual dinner tables. Mrs. Cyril L. Vance was in charge of decorations. The stars of Tosca, Glade Peterson, Ariel Bybee and Don Watts, sang excerpts from the production. Included in the honored guest lst were Mr. and Mrs. Golden Peterson of Magna, parents of Glade Peterson. THERE IS A Pensive look about this small girl. Celebrate George Washingtons birthday or commemorate Cherry Month with this sauce Serve it on all types of cakes, puddings or ice cream. National Cherry Sauce 1 (l;pound, 4 ounce) can red sour cherries Water tablespoon corn starch Vi teaspoon salt Almond extract Red food coloring Drain cherries, reserving liquid. Add water to liquid to make 1 4 cups. Mix com starch and salt in saucepan. Stir In cherry liquid. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in few drops almond extract and red food coloring. Cool. Stir in cherries. Serve.
