BREAKFAST HELD Members of the Magna Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post and Auxiliary, along with their children, enjoyed breakfast Sunday morning at Coons Canyon. Starting at 8, breakfast was served to members of Post 7398 and their families. The organization is hoping to have another breakfast and steak fry before the season ends. Mrs. Taylor, the widow of John West Taylor, had seven children, 24 grandchildren and hosts of Her parents, Henry Peter and Eleanor Blanch Burns, homesteaded in Little Valley, just above Magna. GRADUATES Three Magna brothers had the unusual honor of graduating in the same year from institutions of learning, the youngest, R. Brent Stephens, from Cyprus High School, the next, Dallas H. Cole, who will get his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University cf Utah on Aug. 20th, and the eldest, Alfred L. Cole, who was given his Master's De General Electric Refrigerators NEWLYWEDS Mr. and Mrs. Gerald L. Stewart, who were married Friday, Aug. 11. A reception honored them that evening at the Lake Ridge Ward House. Miss Kaye Wilkey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Wilkey. 7358 W. 3100 South, and Mr. Gerald L. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Stewart, Hooper, Utah, were united in marriage at an LDS Temple ceremony Friday, Aug. 11. Alex J. Andresen performed the ceremony. A reception was held at the Lake Ridge Ward house that evening. For her wedding, the bride n chose a beautiful white covered with lace, en train, and her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was caught back to a crown of lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white carnations, centered with a white orchid. Miss Janice Wilkin, a cousin, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Terry Ann Stewart, Judith Howard, Georgean Tipton and Cara Davies. Junior bridesmaids were Ann and Jennie Lee Wilkey and flower girls were Marlene and Elizabeth Wilkey. All were gowned in floor-lengt- h models with white over peach bodice, the skii t of a darker peach crystalline taffeta. Each held a single white carnation. Best man was Elwin Kettle. First Baptist Community Church Rev. C. L. McCarty, minister the First Baptist Community Church, will be in the pulpit on Sunday, Aug. 20th, to give his final sermon in Magna. He and his family are leaving that same day for Emporia, Kan., where Rev. McCarty will serve on the faculty of the College of Emporof ia. On Aug. 27, the Rev. James Guy of Salt Lake City will speak to the Magna congregation. I gree in Business Administration in June, also from the University of Utah. Brent plans to attend the University of Utah on a scholarship awarded when he graduated with honors from Cyprus; Dallas will go to Washington, D.
