This is the report of the First Security Bank News Letter, which was distributed recently, according to Paul Garside, Magna branch manager. The News Letter is edited by Dr. ElRoy Nelson, First Security Corp. vice president and economist, who predicts this pattern will continue in the second quarter of the year. Personal income, based on preliminary data, was almost eight per cent above the $595 million reported for the first quarter one little 'ole me? year ago, while employment cent. The News Letter reports that mineral production in Utah for 1967 might approach last years record, provided labor difficulties and work stoppages are avoided. However, valuation of production may be slightly lower due to downward pressure on prices of certain minerals. Copper production in January was reported at 48.9 million pounds, an increase of 28 percent of a year ago, while the domestic price of electrolytically refined copper was two cents above last year at 38 cents a pound. Lead, zinc, silver and gold production from Utah mines in the first quarter totaled approximately the same as last year, while uranium output is slightly lower and vanadium higher. Fertilizer output is establishing new records, with considerable capital expenditures underway that will further increase the capacity and output of all three major plant foods. A priests cottage meeting was held Sunday at the home of Bishop Ed Huber. Paul Burkett and Randy Daybell gave talks and refreshments were served to the group. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey and family attended funeral services for Mr. Harveys grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Harvey, in Beaumont, Calif. She was 89 years old. They also visited relatives in the Los Angeles area over the weekend. 4-- H 4-- H Molbody's got a family pl n like Chevrolet. Beagley, also grandparents of the honored Miss, was a highlight during the evening. They dropped in unexpectedly, returning to Magna after spending the past few months in Mesa, Ariz.
