First day activities included second class skills, compass and trail signs, pioneering knife and axe, nature, archery, physical fitness, cooking, good turn project and swimming. The second day agenda listed a hike and swimming. Third day activities encompassed handicrafts, fishing, first aid and swimming. The youths enjoyed lunches at the Big Lodge or on the trail, and as a feature event Saturday evening, the families of the boys were invited to have dinner with their scout sons and brothers at the Big Lodge, followed by a program around the campfire. HOSPITAL Arnold Lewis Halbert, 52, 5422 Elaine Ave., Hunter, died Saturday in a Salt Lake Hospital after a heart attack. Born Dec. 10, 1911, in San Saba, Tex., he was a son of Jefferson Henry and Ida Lee Wells Halbert. He married Vera Wynn Jan. 12, 1935, in Mooringsport, La. The marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Temple of the LDS Church. The regarded man was a pipeline engineer and a veteran of World War II. He had been an employe of Standard Oil Co. of California for 15 years. Mr. Halbert was a member of the LDS Church.
