the division odthe ot the box elder sta stake ke second it ii witnessed the largest attendance on the opening day ot of any conference yet held third it marked the installation ot of several new officers in ill the stake organization the visitors present from salt lake city were president francis af lyman and elder john hery smith of 0 ahe apostles quorum Quo president german U L ellsworth of the ill e northern North states mission came in sunday morning having accompanied the remains oi of elder oliver A hansen from erom chicago chigo go the rile two iwo meetings on S sunday were occupied by the bishops of oc the various wards throughout the stake in ahing gh ing a report of tile the conditions existing in their respective wards ivery every bishop reported there were pro present sent during the morning session souls s ill making their reports the bishops to lo a 1 mail stated staled that the families as it a whole not observing family night and morning and the baillis saints were not all good to attend tile the sacrament meetings on sunday afternoon the tithing throughout tile tha stale stake is hardly up lip with last year but each bishop felt confident of reaching last gears ears le ie cord and possibly surpassing it elder jolin john henry smith deferred to some of tho the reports and suggested remedies as well as encouraged the saints to support their leaders an fn i n program the house was filled to the doors there being over 1500 children and parents present the schools sang christmas carol go when the morning chineth Sh ineth A call and answer and our home in the mountains while the sacrament was being passed miss mary young of the perry schools gave a short talk on the sacrament miss bertha rosenbaum and celesta forsgren sang a duette very beautifully and thorvald jorgensen played a violin ili solo bolo with organ accompaniment by ills his wife elder dan P woodland gave gae an interesting account of the sabbath Sel fools of japan incidents in the life of josheph smith the tha prophet phet were biven given by the first intermediate department of the second ward and an exercise was very creditably rendered by the primary department of the fourth ward tile the speakers were presidents german E ellsworth and francis M lyman the first named told of ili his visit to the birthplace of the prophet joseph smith and in an interesting manner rehearsed the early carly experiences of the boy prophet following him bilm irom from his home thru the yard across the road into the grove where he behold beheld the wonderful vision and then bade back to his organist of the Y L 1111 A and hazel B stohl as an aid in ili the stake board of the religion classes on account of one ot or the high councilmen and one altern alternate ate being taken in the organization of the bear river stake that quorum was wag incomplete joseph 11 lillywhite and Thaddeus wight were sustained bained as high councilmen and orson so loveland Lov cland C al 61 jensen an
