| Show EXCLUSIVE FOR YOUR 1 TERRITORY I 1 salt lake sept 21 24 there is an air of 0 prevailing around I 1 the utah state fair association headquarters that promises a splendid ex hibit lon when the gates are thrown open to the public on the morning of 0 monday oct 3 5 A glance over the pre gium list discloses the fact that the management has covered 17 departments of exhibits and incidentally has hung up a number of purses and special premiums in each pros pres J G mcdonald Hc Donald reports that to late date the entries already recci received ved are away ahead of previous years two tivo weeks in advance adae of the big show the various exhibitors are recognizing the fact that the utah state fair has grown and it 11 now affords a splendid medium or of advertising the resources of the state slate they are responding nobly in entering the best they have while the outside firms have long since learned that state fairs are the lest best places to get their manufactures and goods before the public and they too are clamoring for space these mutsue men are told that they will be accommodated providing there Is room after the utah exhibitors have concluded their entries the management of the big exposition has sent out a call to all to help bell along the good work by sending the best they have to be placed in competition for for the greatly enlarged prize list offered this season they are responding and it looks as though there will be room for outsiders none the less enthusiastic are the general genera agents of the three big trunk railroads passing through utah their story is that tourist travel is exceptionally heavy this fall and the triple event of state fair national eisteddfod and the L D 3 conference will tax every car in the service of the railroads lail tall roads to its capacity to carry the crowds bent 1 aside filin the livestock tural and agricultural exhibits of the usual run the other strong features of this years fair will be the he aducat ional department the dog show under the auspices of the american kennel j club and the art department aneal A new brick building with every detail of afi lighting thought out and carrle carried will accommodate the utah artists who I 1 in the past were chary about exhibiting their work owing to the chance or of getting their pictures hung lung in a bad light sculptors and painters will be to the fore this year put but it is ii in the amusement awu aniu features that the fate fair this sear will be exceptionally strong N nat at delss t the he carnival king of the west avest whose name stands for good shows is bringing his entire carnival to salt lake and will pitch tents on the shows grounds for 20 shows which run the gamut from a one ring circus to side shows balloon ascension expert marksmen revolving ladder acts slides for life and rope w walking will be among the free attractions the old time fake ten cent shows will be conspicuous by their absence the management is spending 5 this year for amusements aside from the horse races which represent in gold hung up before the starters bell rings then there will be pains fireworks each night and the word pain when applied to pyrotechnics is the same as sterling on silverware |
