Show THE RECEIVERS EXPENSES the following redart in the matter i of the united states vs the church of jesus christ of latter day saints was filed in the supreme court yesterday afternoon by special master J P bache pursuant to an order of said court dated january 12 1892 again referring this cause to me for examination of the accounts of henry W lawrence receiver from the date of my last report september 12 1891 up to and including december 31 1891 and to report upon the services of the receiver and his hio counsel john A marshall I 1 have compared the accounts and the reports filed bled in my office monthly with the books of accounts odthe of the receiver in his office and I 1 report as follows the amount of cash on hand at the date of my last report september 12 1891 was wag the receipts during the term covered by this report from arora september 12 1891 up to and including december 31 1 were being income from rents of the several pieces of real estate in his hand and interest allowed by the banks on the amounts deposited with them the banks continue to pay interest at the rate of 4 per cent per annum the union national reserves a daily balance of on which no interest ts Is paid as before this bank credits the fund monthly with the An interest terest due from them the other banks send in check their interest every four months the leaser of the church farm te Is delinquent lin quent two months in his big rent for said property but I 1 find the receiver has demanded and obtained sufficient security for the ultimate payment of the same the receiver was advised by the lessees lessels of the gardo house property in november that they would vacate the property on december 1 1991 the receiver immediately advertised for bids for the same but received no satisfactory bids afterwards he succeeded in letting the property to the bewey institute at a monthly rental of this to is much less lees than has haa been paid here heretofore tolore but on examination I 1 find that no better can be done at this time from proper and responsible parties and I 1 recommend the receivers action in the premises premie ea be approved during the terme covered by this examination and report I 1 find the following expenses have been incurred and the amounts paid out by the receiver in his management of the fund for clerk hire torr forr tor r months 00 special sidewalk tax gardo house 2725 27 25 property an and d historian office 40 advertising for bids releasing re r leasing the church farm 27 2760 50 repairing at chare i farm 10 18 plumbing tithing office property as plumbing tithing re required u ed by c city I 1 ty ordinance 00 50 ad additional alt ai plumbing gardo house 86 65 printing vouchers 8 15 advertising for bids tor for releasing leasing re the gardo house be 00 roof gardo house 8 00 total 68 the special master recommended to the court the approval of the expenses of the receiver after an examination of the vouchers which were found to be correct the excess of receipts over expenditures was making the total amount of cash in the hands of the receiver at the close of the year which is deposited in the following banks in the amounts named with ao 00 50 ON 00 with deseret savings bank 00 W with I 1 th commercial national bulk bank 56 with T B R jones ft oo 00 00 with wells fargo co 00 00 with union national bank 00 total 56 the special muter master said in his bis report that he did not deem it necessary to have a further hearing in relation to the compensation of the receiver as his bis services have been about the same as were reported in the preceding report the services of the receivers counsel were also about the same as before As the court has fixed the compensation of the receiver and his cou counsel aisel at and per month it was wai recommended that they be allowed that amount per month from september 12 to december 31 1891 |
