was more of a conference than jubilee it Is easy to understand that no other day of the week would be suitable and then the arrangements range ments for holding the earl early y Ud flugt were vere directed by tile the first presidency of the church and we b believe that the to have eye every ry reason d day ay and time was selected after a careful consider consideration atholl of the case in point of 0 numbers the crowds from outside points were a disappointment poin ment preparations had bad been made to accommodate in ill the neighbor the trains train arrill arriving arri ing ng from the north south and brought visitors from all points along the line there were present athes from hieston Pi eston idaho on the north and mt pleasant on oil the south A joll jolly v good birther ly possessed and friend greeted filand with a warmth of spirit which revealed true sentiments of love at tile the depot when the ahe trains arrived about a in the brigham city band discoursed sweet music which put everyone lit in good humor and made the visitors feel that they were welcome the reception committee had dispatched maor blackburn representing the city pros pres W C horsley ll re about ing acif all on board that a hearty welcome awaited them in brigham Brig liam city the committee was supplied with printed programs of the days exercises which were d distributed 1 tri buted among the visitors by which they could obtain any information regarding the time of meetings location of 0 check and refreshment stands arrival and departure of 0 trains etc the programs pio grams granis were printed at our establishment and they were eagerly sought for by those who tailed failed to g get e t one at tile depot the conveyance committee had teams in abundance at the hie depot so that all the aged brought up town and unloaded at the tabernacle the lay day was warm and the ride up town was greatly appreciated by those favored oreil the sprinkler tilder wagon had been out good and early wetting down the dust from the court house to the depot and the firemen sprinkled main street so EO that no dust was made by the coney conveyances ances as they hurried hither and thither it was indeed an In sight to look up forrest and main alain ats from tile the depot ti to the court house and from north to ath south the tf fi decoration ommittee committee had its work all completed on these streets saturday evening and the result was a grand boulevard boul vard decked with flags on each light pole was a cross stick it at each end of which flew a banner beginning with one of the scandinavian count rys colors and following with the next and so EO on over again along the whole line of march on the light pole at the cross roads two american flags waived above the other colors making a beautiful groupe the color scheme was carried earl led out with splendid effect at the tabernacle and central school building at the entrance to each place an all arch of green plue pine boughs draped with bunting hags flags and the scandinavian coats of arms had been erected and from the tabernacle gate to the building an all alley of flags and bunting had been made and the front of the building was coveted by two large american flags on the inside flags bunting steea iners and flowers had been used in great profusion the west wall was drappel with two large american flags and the U S coat coal of arms the east wall was similarly draped with the swedish bedish colors the north wall by the norwegian and south wall by the danish colors and coats of arms from each of the four drop lights were strung streamers ot of the scandinavian and american colors to the windows on tle the side and the gal lery posts were drapce drap I with the i I 1 design 1 andel the dees on the school ate aie tables benches and refreshment boot booths lis had been ci acted by that coni com Il littee tee who spent two days and a 1 half in building and tearing fearing down after the rest fest was over A number i of the li Ni had their lunch with willi them and round found the tables and benches very convenient the check stand in the school building was also a big help for lunches parcels was anticipated they served excellent lun lunche clies and delicious cooling soft drinks which were extra estr a good on such a hot day the services at the tabernacle began g an by the scandinavian choir under tile the direction of julius brunn singing a hi mn mil which was vas followed by p prayer t ay and another hymn pres oleen N stohl read in swedish a welcome to 10 the strangers within our gates and was followed by pres prea anthon H lund who spoke his pleasure at being i pie sent and stated that 5 minute speeches would be the rulo rule A num her of the leading scandinavians were called
