Cedar City 185 "V The Southern 'Utah University Theatre 'Department requests the honor of your pres cnee at According to Virginia Stitt, orchestra director, the two soloists this year are both seniors picked by audition in December Chelle Leyva, flute, and Stephanie Mecham, violin. Chelle is performing the Vivaldi Concerto for Flute in F major. This piece is very reminiscent of the Seasons Stitt said. Stephanie is by Vivaldi, the first movement of the performing Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, which is from the Romantic period and uses a full orchestra with all the brass and woodwinds. The orchestra will open the program with Glucks Ballet Suite No. 1, in four contrasting movements, but all with elements of dance. The two concluding pieces will be a march by Franz Schubert and a polka by Johann Strauss, Jr- The concert .a Murder is free and open to the ARTYFACTS TAILWIND DEADLINE: SUUs literary magazine, Tailwind, is accepting short stories, essays, poetry, drama, art and photography until tomorrow at 4 p.m. Applications are available at the Library circulation desk, Braithwaite Fine Arts Center Room 300 and Student Government Offices in the Student Center. The community as well as all students, faculty and staff of SUU are invited to submit entries. Short stories and essays must be kept to a maximum of 1 ,500 words. POETRY READING: Leslie Norris, poet and author, will read some of his work Tuesday night at p.m. in the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. 8 He is currently at Brigham Young University and was recently named outstanding faculty member. He is the author of 12 books of poems, short stories and childrens pieces. Norris was the recipient of the Katherine Mansfield Award in fiction for the best short story published in the entire world. WAUKEENYAN REVIEW: The Waukeenyan dance team will present a dance review Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Centrum arena.
