CbOWlTcAmEsJ Nearly flOO high school students will be visiting SUSCs k vocational conference. campus in June to participate in a Conference coordinator Jill Dail said officials are hoping to find SUSC students to participate in the program to act as chaperones, and to show the students around while they are here visiting the campus. Dail said the high school students involved in the program will have the opportunity to experience college life before they ever really go to college, as well as receive college credit. According to Dail, while the students are here going through the program, they will have the opportunity to taste what college life is all about. "They will live in the dorms, even if they are locals, attend college classes for six hours a day, and will receive up to three college credits for the work they do during the time that they are here, she said. The classes that are being offered for the students are WordPerfect 5.0, a criminal justice course, interior design, and CAD. These classes will be taught by professors here on the campus, said Dail. Not all of the visitors time will be limited to classwork, though. According to Dail, there will be activities for the students to attend while they are here as well. Conference dates are scheduled for June 17 to June 22, and from June 24 to June 29. Students interested in working as a chaperone should contact Dail at GET ONE GAME I two-wee- FREE! Each club has been asked to raise $450 toward the $12,000 needed to match a legislative allocation. Meridee Weston, ASSUSC clubs and organizations chair, said that a prize will be awarded to the club who raises the most money. Should two or more clubs tie, they will be given one week to raise additional funds to break the tie, she said. A video camcorder, which will be paid for out of the ASSUSC presidents budget, has been chosen as grand prize. Delta Sigma Chi raised $120 toward the Library fund by holding a car wash in April. The Delta pledge class of Phi Alpha Beta sponsored a car wash April 28 and a May 1 1 to raise approximately $150. The radio club raised $236 by competing against SUSC faculty members May 18 in a softball game. This weekend Sigma Nu is planning a car wash, $3, and garage sale at the Sigma Nu house.
