Summer 1 I FR HIRING Men Mayor Bob Linford sweated out an evenings returns Tuesday Wayne Clark, a local businessman, right. at the home of his daughter Bobette and son-in-la- w Linford gives up mayoral seat (CONTINUED FROM PAGE 7) Economic developments during Linfords tenure as mayor, include changing the citys image to the Festival City, attracting several new industries to the area, and increasing retail sales and Utahs new job growth rate. Im proud of my eight years in office, said Linford. Im surprised. I thought it would be a closer race, Linford said. He attributes his loss to three problem areas: first, because it was his third term in office; second, the people do not want as much of a college community relationship; and third, that people want to slow down rather than pushing for further economic development. Linford indicated that Shirley has quite a following from (past) students. Shirley will have tremendous adjustment, he said, since the position of mayor is not an afterschool job. Linford said he has two more months in for the city. The retired salesman indicated that he will remain active in community issues although he will not run again. I have no remorse at all, said Linford. 586-984- PHOTOGRAPHERS, TOUR GUIDES, RECREATION PERSONNEL. Excellent pay plus FREE travel Caribbean, Hawaii, Bahamas, South Pacific, Mexico.
