The reason for this simple: No other instrument so faithfully resonates those truths of the heart that must be told. There are many who fit this eloquent description, including Naomi and Wynonna Judd. The mother-daughtduo will perform in concert in the SUSC Centrum Saturday, Jan. 28, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Although many acts even the good ones take some time to become popular, the Judds became an instant success upon their first single release Had A Dream in 1983. From that time to the present, the Judds have celebrated three certified 12 platinum albums, one gold album and had singles reach the number one spot on Billboard s Country Singles Charts. They have also received three Grammy honors and five awards each from the Country Music Association and the Academy of County Music, as well as numerous awards abroad. Because of their many successes, the Judds released a greatest hits album in August of last year. The idea of a greatest hits record for an act that has released only three albums and an EP seems questionable at first, said Clark Parsons of the Nashville Banner. But listening to (The Judds Greatest Hits) is like leafing through a treasured album of weathered photographs that evoke emotion and joy. It also contains two new cuts, er Country's dynamic duo, the Judds, will kick off the 1989 SUSC concert series with their Greatest Hits Tour.
