Show PACE 6 THE THUNDERBIRD MONDAY APRIL 4, 1988 -- West end lots to aid parking problem ST BY REBECCA redistribution of morning and afternoon classes should relieve overcrowded parking areas, say SUSC officials A WINSOR "With the increase in students attending SUSC, parking will continue to be a problem," according to SUSC Security Chief Kent Hoyt. Solutions for overcrowded parking include walking, taking night classes and using west campus parking lots. "Parking at nine, ten or one o'clock on campus is impossible unless you use west campus parking," said Michael D. Richards, vice president for college relations. Richards, along with other college officials, is promoting the use of west end parking by SUSC students. "SUSC course work has moved west," said Richards. Because classes are shifting, students are closer to classes if they park in the lower campus lots. The state building board considers the SUSC parking problem to be modest. It estimates the college is only lacking 200 parking stalls, and overcrowding is caused mainly by inefficient use of existing space, said Richards. "We still have better parking than any other four-yeschool in the state," said Hoyt. Plans under way to increase parking space include paving the dirt lot across from the Library which, according to Richards, should be finished this summer. Currently, most of the P.E. parking lot is filled with construction equipment and, when cleared) will increase parking to the Student Center, Business and P.E. buildings. Future projects include a parking lot between the President's Home and College Arms Apts. Petitioning the state to allow parking in the center lane on 300 West, as is done during the Shakespearean Festival, is also being considered. ar 66No matter how bad they are, Grandma loves to hear the latest jokes.99 r 'cinlilmtivAs r a I . i A - - - T d-- r i - V r v A ou miss herspuikhng sense ot humoi She misses ou and oui okes Een tin bad ones I hat s one good ieason to call longdistance U&I long Distance Sen ic is another good ieason larade your Easter colors with Kodak Colorwatch Be cause it costs less than ou think to heai oui grand mother stai t to giggle be tore ou een get to the punch line Sow heneerou miss her laughter, bring a smile to her luce with AT&T Read out and touch someone s' At V II ou d like to know more about Yl&Tpioductsand sen ices, like the AT&T Care call us at 1 800 222 0300 Quality film developing for double prints. 12 15 i j Kim Cohen University of Wisconsin- Class of 1990 -- Exposure (2d prints) .
