Boise State took second and third in all around. Petersen also took first place with her crowd pleasing floor routine. Her score of 9.1. helped her dominate that top spot. Petersen tied for first on the bars with 8.75, improving from her past scores. She also tied for third with 8.95 on vault. Other high scorers for the Lady 'Bird gymnasts were Marla Huskey with an 8.6 on floor and Cori Conkle with an 8.75 on vault. The team will leave for the national championships in Minot, N.D., Wednesday. CUMMINGS on the agenda followed by a handicap event. A buddy shoot will close out the competition. Lady 'Birds to host tourney BY TIFFANIE FLORENCE SUSC Lady ended their regular season with a 17-- 7 record earning them the right to host the NAIA District Seven Tournament. First round action is scheduled for Friday evening at 6 and 8 p.m. in the Cedar High School gym. The 'Birds play in the late tilt against the winner of the Adams State game to be held on Wednesday in Colorado. The championship is slated for Saturday night at 7:30 p m. in the Centrum. "We are going into the tournament on a winning streak," said assistant coach Clay Anderson. "The ladies have proven that winning can be a habit and it's possible for us to take the national title." SUSC's Lady 'Birds defeated the Mountaineers of Western State to secure College Friday night 83-5- 4 the bid for hosting the tournament.
