' In an eftort to get its participation in NCAA Division basketball off to a quick start, SUSC has invited Weber State to be the first home opponent next season. ''We have invited the Wildcats to play us in the Centrum sometime during the first week ot December," said Cary Callup, SUSC athletic director "Weber State would be an extremely appealing opponent tor southern Utah basketball fans." To make the offer attractive, SUSC will guarantee Weber State $10,000 to play in the Centrum. That is twice the guarantee offered to any other Thunderbird opponent for the '88-8- 9 season, Callup explains. "We are willing to otter that kind of guarantee because we think a game with the Wildcats will fill the Centrum. Both teams can make a little money, and we can introduce a lot of people to good Division basketball," said Gallup. have met six times as four-yeWeber and the schools; all six games have been played in Ogden on thfe Wildcats' home floor.
