Bonnie Mitchell, director of the SUSC Multicultural Center, said this is the first year they will devote an entire week to international activities that the public is invited to attend. The week of Nov. 10 through 14 is filled with activities ranging from lectures and films to an international buffet and talent show. The international students are coordinating the buffet and talent show themselves. (See This Week for details.) Since this is the first year that the Multicultural Center has been responsible for advising international students, it was decided to have an International Week to excite the students. Mitchell believes International Week is a great opportunity to expand horizons and learn about conditions other than our own. "This is a chance," said Mitchell, "for the international students on campus to share some of their Shop Homemade- ns j world-wid- e , rw dn heritage with us." Inspite of funds being "extremely limited," said Mitchell, a high quality program has been prepared. Many of the speakers have volunteered to come and support the activity at minimal or no cost. The Multicultural Center hopes to find other sources of funding for subsequent International Week activities. "The college committed as much as they could," said Mitchell, "but we need outside funding." Due to lack of funds, advertising for this activity was minimal and Mitchell was concerned that people would not know about it. Displays of clothing, books, and other ethnic items will be shown in the foyer of the Library during the week. Guest Lectures start on Nov.
