Only five players from last year returned, while the other team members were freshmen or sophomores and juniors that havent played for a year or two. Looking ahead to next year Peterson said there are some experienced recruits that have already committed to play for the Birds. But in the meantime, Peterson is planning on spending the next four to five weeks recruiting. She said she will be looking for height, depth and experience on her trips to junior college tournaments. For the girls team, Betty Jo Christensen and teammate Darla Hunt both placed in the top 10 in the goat-tyin- g event. Both were penalized 10 seconds for letting their horse hit the rope. Summarizing the womens team performance, Gale said, The girls team had a lot of bad luck.
