Show Page 2 The Thunder bird Monday October 28, 1985 Magazine needs entries A student-oriente- d magazine to be published at SUSC this for is articles, short fiction, poetry and essays looking quarter written by students, faculty members and local residents. Were looking for a wide variety of submissions, said Doug Christensen, editor of the publication. We want interesting short stories, poetry and essays. We are also in need of longer nonfiction articles that in some way deal with campus life or have a subject that is interesting, entertaining and pertinent to students. We intend to create a product, something that will interest, inform and entertain SUSC students, he said. That is why we would like to see submissions of articles and fiction that represent the widest possible spectrum. Among other things, the magazine will feature articles on campus theatrical productions, sports, fashion and interesting personalities. The deadline for nonfiction is Nov. 7, but wed really like hear from people interested in writing nonfiction for us sooner than that like by Nov. 1, if possible, Christensen said. The deadline for fiction, poetry and essays in Nov. 11. Were also looking for photographers and artists who would like to help illustrate the features in the magazine, he said.
