Show The ThundcrbircC TWsday October I, 1385 Fall quarter auditions slated for three plays BY CHAD PETERSEN WHY NOT LIVE ON CAMPUS?? for The Rink, which The SUSC theatre department will hold auditions for the two plays of the quarter, Our Tounand The Constant Wife, as well as the Broadway Musical, The Rink, Tuesday, Oct. 1. s will be held on Oct. 2 in the form of cold readings. Movement auditions for The R ink will be held on Oct. 3. The auditions will .be open to students and community members, said Doug Baker of the theatre department. The sheets are posted on the sign-u- p theatre department call board in the basement of the theatre building. People who are interested in auditioning will need a two minute monologue, and a one to two minute musical selection for the musical. People may sing with taped music accompaniment but an accompanist will be available at the audition. The theatre department is looking for three children, about 10 years old for Our Town. Townspeople are also encouraged to audition. They need not be prepared for the auditions, Baker said. Fred C. Adams is the director is an adaptation of a book by Terrance McNally. Department officials say the new system will allow more students to get roles in the plays, as the directors will see them all at once and make their decisions at the same time. When you are on stage doing your auditions, the people that you are doing it in front of are really cheering for you to do well, Baker said. Auditions start at 5 p.m. in the SUSC Auditorium. Tuesday is for reserved audition times with cast hopefuls to come prepared with auditioning materials. In Bakers words, We are cheering for everyone who auditions.
