the entire attention of the district court here 19 lor r two whole days but whatever feelings there WAY may be abroad abr in regard to the action oi of the jury in the mattor matter it was and la Is evident to all who were present at the trial that they could render no other verdict than that ol of GUILTY from the testimony given by the witnesses nes in court there was not one witness bitne s produced nor mor one word of evidence introduced by the defense to counteract or to rebut that ot of the prosecution that benent ted greenwell Greenw eU in the least and although there was acrimony exhibited in the closing speech of the prosecuting attorney it was unnecessary tor for tile the course of the jury was clear in iia view of the statements of the witnesses and they certainly cannot is ia at present involved in some mystery and there are but few persons who believe the young man manufactured such false statements out ut of whole cloth to gratify graffy a malicious or revengeful desire whatever may be his idiosyncrasies for it is well known that he is not lotof af a vicious disposition night a couple of hours after of the trial mr samuel H hopson the ogden correspondent of tl together at a table when ona of them thein pointed jointed H out to the other and whispered something in his ja ear shortly after a youns young 11 man arose from fam the table approached mr hobgoo and addressing him said 1 I un ren tand that you have said baid my sister bister does not possess a good character woo who is your sister isaid said hobson sarah barah herrick Herr lck replied the other hobson this morning early this morning detachments of the SELLS BROS CIRCUS began ile to arrive and pitch tents on the union kujau 10 square by eight the people from the country began to arrive in large numbers to see the show by ten the town was filled with people and shortly alter after it was estimated that the numbers had swelled to ten thousand in due course the IMMENSE procession was formed which consisted of the usual paraphernalia there were about thirty car carriages dages three bands of music elephants camels and other animals including the diminutive shetland ponies on and small donkeys etc they they paraded through some of the principal streets of them the town returned to the square gave a free exhibition of wire walking opened the sideshow side show for an hour an the big show folks we have a large jarge number ol of WOODS saloons in this city and they were or appeared to be crowded with visitors throughout the day dagand and there is no doubt that they patronized their hosts liberally be rally but the day has hasso faras as I 1 have learned earned passed off quietly and peaceably a no tights have occurred and b but ut few appeared to have more of
