Tribune Staff Writer The Utah State Board of Education Friday seated a new membe and gave its approval : to a r aster :p!an ouLinmg :the future de- velopment of 'the Orem i oY campus Utah Technical College at Provo. Regional School District 6, from which Mr. Whiting will seek includes Nebo School District in which Mapleton is located, and all of eastern Utah from North Summit District on the Wyoming line to San Juan District on Arizona line. The plan approved for the Provo Technical College out lines both the academic program and building needs contemplated in the development of the schools campus site along M5 in Orem. Sworn in as a state board member by of Mr. Whiting Secretary State Clyde L. Miller was Ray S. Whiting, a Mapleton, Utah County, sheep rancher. Mr. Whiting, who earlier this year filed as a candidate for the board from Regional School District 6 opposing Sheldon S. Allred, Price, was appointed to the board to serve the unexpired term of Dr. A. Reed Morrill, Provo, who resigned last month because of ill health. Originally District 4 Dr. Morrill originally was elected to the board from Regional School District 4 which, prior to the reapportionment of the board, included Uintah, Utah, Ducehesne and Wasatch counties. Mr. Whiting was appointed to the unexpired term by a nominating convention composed of iocal school board members from those e No aonropriations have been mad'- for the campus devel opn.ent, nor is a time schedule for its development stipulated in the plan.
