Redwood Rd., said Where jobs are, students seem to be going, and a new focus is being placed on vocational colleges. In our college-oriente- d Mr. Christensen society, students are emphasized, finding out that universities arent what its all about. Many college graduates are without jobs. Are Employed Yet, Mr. Christensen explained, out of 896 graduates of Utah Tech last year, 545 are now employed in their field of training; 50 are employed in a related field of training; and 42 are employed in fields of training. stuOf the remaining dents, he said, 109 are still attending college, 10 at a four-yeuniversity, and others are in the military or havent sent information concerning their whereare un abouts. Only non-relate- d ar 20-2- 5 employed, Mr. Christensen said. Are Discouraged Yet students are discouraged from enrolling, in Utah Technical School, he said. Parents are saying, maybe vocational training is a good thing, but not for my son, and high school who have grown up with college ori- counselors, entation, cannot see the other side of the coin. As part of the Post High School Orientation Tour, sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education, Mr. Christensen joins 13 other college representatives daily in visiting the 98 high approximately schools in the state. The tour, held October through December of each year, acquaints graduating seniors with the programs of each college.
