The only people who seemed to have any doubts about this earlier in ihe week at Houston were the Pac-- 8 committee and Hallock. Both interested parties refused to confirm or deny, but no one was taking any bets against Hallock. Most of us felt he was the only logical contender for the job, and Wiles friends in the WAC can only wish him success in hi? new job. Hallock's credentials are solid. He was sports information director at the University of California, then moved to the National Collegiate Athletic Assn, office and moved from Kansas City to the WAC commissioner's job.
