| Show AH AN explanation WE wn are in receipt of the following letter from the president of summit stake COALVILLE I E dec editor deveret dagret wems newt my attention has just been called to an item in the report of the quarterly conference of summit stake held in Co coalville Coa alville iville november Hb vember 11 and and 12 in said report it states as follows the stake authorities were also presented and sustained with the exception of charles charlea T mills milla coun lillor hilorio to the bishop of hoytsville and jared 0 boundy roundy bishop of manship wanship Wan ship who were dropped for the time being the two brethren named were not dropped for the time being but simply passed over without any action there was a matter which required an explanation and aud neither of thom thorn being present to make said baid explanation at the time their names jamea were omitted emitted in presenting the other stake onn off officers leers for the tho time being which circum stance should not have been mentioned in the report sent cent in bishop boundy roundy as soon as he returned home gave the explanation and made every thing satisfactory and there is no doubt but that brother mills will do the same by inserting the above correction in your paper you will greatly oblige C yours routs very respectfully W W oloff CIOFF prest we cheer cheerfully tully fally give space to the foregoing forego ini int aa we consider it due to the bi athren brethren whose names are mentioned but we take no share of re for the error in the con f ference arence report that rests upon the clerk who furnished it wo we publish the numerous reports of this character which are forwarded from the various stakes to make them matters of record many of them are of an uninteresting character to the general public and we think could be made more readable if arranged in a different manner from tho formal and stereotyped style that is usual we received one today from st george which we consider far preferable to the kind frequently received the public are not interested in the information as to the name of the person who called the meeting to order and other such items neither do we care to publish them unless it is on some important occasion like a general conference but no matter what may be the style of reports adopted we think they should be reviewed by the stake presidents before they are forwarded for publication as the business reported goes on dand it is supposed to be correct and authoritative such an error as that now corrected would not have occurred if this rule had been carried out and we suggest this to all parties concerned that in future stake I 1 reports may be sanctioned by the stake authorities before they appear in print |
