Houndstooth interior Backup lamps Aluminum exhaust system Hidden antenna 9 Ken Garff Oldsmobile ' STATE AT FIFTH SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH 84111 521-611- 1 Kris Winters, East Students should have a chance to rate teachers but something should be done with the evaluations. At East right now we have the opportunity in some classes to evaluate teachers, but nothing is done with the evaluations. Right now they have no purpose, but could be a valuable tool in improving the quality of educators. A student rating system should also be an instrument in selection of teachers because this system would be helpful in letting teachers know how students react to them and their teaching methods. I think that if students were to Nykola Andrus, Murray grade teachers, they would probably be biased by other students opinions and the grading would be unfair and ineffective. However, a student should have some say in the people lie has teaching him. If a student has had a teacher and knows he cannot work with that teacher, he should be able to request not to have that teacher again. Colleen Bemis, iewmont If the grading is done sincerely, I definitely think it would be a good plan to have students grade teachers; because, after all, the students are the ones who are most directly concerned and influenced by them. However, I dont think that we are actually qualified to select teachers. We should leave teacher selection to those who are best qualified. It would make teachers more competitive so that the best teachers would be educating us. No. I dont think all students LeAnne Hansen, Brighton are capable of fairly grading teachers. But if there is really a bad teacher with poor ethics, I think that a student or a group of students should have the right to speak of their disapproval. In doing so. action should be taken to correct the problem teacher. We already have the right to choose what class we want to take; and if we dont like e teacher, all we have to do is transfer out. In that respect, we do select teachers. There are so many different Jerry Wiser, Skyline-- No. views as to the characteristics of a good teacher, it would be chaos if students graded or selected their teachers. THREE HOTPOINT WASHER This features Students shouldnt have a chance Jean Bryan, Clearfield to grade teachers. That isnt important Teachers should be picked by combined efforts of a student board and school board. Maybe it should be set up like any other job; a teacher tries out his work, and then in a year, if he does a good job and is liked by the students, he continues. I dont think high school students Teri Graham, Skyline should be allowed to grade teachers, but they should be able to select their teachers just like college students do. Dresser size headboard. As far as selecting teachers, students dont have the knowledge or experience to say who should teach and who should not. The job of selecting teachers should be left to those who really know what they are doing. Michael Golightl.v, Bountiful Yes, then a teacher could be graded by the people who would know the best his students. Everyone could judge who are the poor teachers and they could be dismissed. CHEST OF DRAWERS I feel that the school board should Dan Alder, View mont run some type of program where students are given a chance to evaluate their teachers at the end of the scholastic year. As for students selecting teachers, I feel that students are not completely qualified enough or experienced enough to make a valid choice. mtinued from STEREO KING SIZE Yes. I think this is a good way to evaluate teachers. Students should be able to evaluate the way their classes are taught and how they react to a teachers personality. This would help teachers to know exactly what their strong and weak areas of teaching are; and hopefully, they would improve, If possible students should be able to select the teacher he wants for a specific class.
