Show DESERET NEWS, Tuesday, July 11, 1972 A Special Day- A 9 - 100th Birthday LOGAN Mrs. Altena Larsen will celebrate her 100th birthday Wednesday at the Sunshine Terrace nursing home. Sh? will miss her older sis- ter Mrs. Annie Benson, who died April 17 at the nursing home at the age of 105. They used to relive some of their early years as they sat visiting together in their wheelchairs at Sunshine Terrace. But she wont be alone or lonely. Also residing at Sunshine Terrace are Caroline Larsen, her husbands sister, and Ada Larsen, wife of her husband's brother. Cache County, when Altena was five and at the age of 17 she went to work at Cache Junction, a thriving railroad center, as a cook in the cafe and hotel. She earned $4 a week, plus an extra dollar a week for baking 12 loaves of bread every night after her regular hours.
