Show THE conscience AND FUTURE JUDGMENT I 1 sat alone amone with my conscience cordeno ep in ina lna a place where time had ceased and talked to tho the former living in the tho land where the years Increase increased dl and I 1 felt I 1 should have to answer the questions it put to mo me and to face the tho answer and question throughout an eternity tho the ghosts ot of forgotten actions came floating before my bight sight and things that I 1 thought were dead things were alive with a terrible might and the vision of all my past life was an awful thing to face wione alone with my conscience sitting bitting in ih that at solemnly silent place and I 1 thought of a faraway far away warning of a sorrow that was to be mine in a land that then was tho the future I 1 but now was the present time and I 1 thought of my former thinking of a judgment day to be nut but bitting sitting aiono alono with my conscience seemed judgment enough for tor me and I 1 wondered if there was waa a future to this land beyond the grave gravel but no ono one gave mo me an answer and no one ono came to save then I 1 felt that tho the future was present and tho the present would never go by byi for it was waa but the thought of my past life grown into eternity then I 1 woke from and the vision passed away and I 1 knew the faraway rae tar away warning was a warning of yester yesterday dan dar and I 1 pray that I 1 may not forget it in this land before tho the graves grave that I 1 may not cry in the future and no one come to save and so I 1 have learned a lesson which I 1 ought to have known before and which though I 1 learned it dreaming I 1 hope to forget no more so I 1 sit alone with my conscience in the tho place where the years increase and I 1 try to remember the future in the land where time will cease and I 1 know of the future judgment leow allow dreadful so eer it be that to sit alone with my conscience will bo be judgment enough toc tor me alton london spectator |
