Just write, before Dec. 20, to Superintendent George Church,Golden Spike National Historic Site, Corinne, Utah, 84307. My opinion for what it's worth:, we should do whatever is adequate at the a small park area for lunch site stoppers, information building (small) for whatever exhibition is necessary, preferably enclosed, with rest rooms. People along the route at Brigham City, Corinne, Malta, stand to gain somewhat from a park area at the site. But will elaborate facilities draw any more than adequate ones? "It was nice being able to get on snow for the first time and know a little bit about what was going on. That first session seemed to really help," one young lad told his instructor. Even some of those with prior ski time found Saturday's session of great benefit. "I don't know if it's because I've skied before, but I found this class much easier than last years. I started in the ski school last year, but didn't get a chance to ski much during the season. "I decided to start with the school again this year, and I'm sure glad I did. I learned so much and had so much fun this time, I just can't believe it," a pretty young lady told ski school chief Keith West. Plans were on the board this past summer for the addition of one or two new chairlifts. According to Randy Montgomery, vice president of marketing, a couple of locations have been selected, but final decisions won't be made until next summer. Skiers will notice several changes this coming season. "We've done a lot of grooming and improved a lot of the existing runs. One of the biggest changes is in the Regulator Narrows. A lot of work was put into that section just off the tram," he added. One program initiated last year by the'Bird was the use of free guide service. This year that service will be expanded. Right now, Snowbird is the only area offering this service in Utah. According to Montgomery, the two camps will at times join in order to introduce skiers to judging techniques and judges to freestyle qualities. Then from Dec. 15 through 17, a special Ingress Meet will be held by the Professional Freestyle Assn. at Alta. Skiers wanting to take the freestyle tour with the PFA will have to qualify in the meet.
