In a position paper. the society touches upon various criticisms leveled against the program- that it would reduce efiorts in basic or un- targeted research; that it ould take funds aw av from research on other diseases; dial it has not shown much achievement in longer survival from various forms o? cancer, and that it brought w mere optimistic political promises than scientists could fulfil Speaking to the society's National Board Directors in Louisville, Ky , V.
