I..,:s. . f.',',...g. -47 ...!, ,,,re.7.,;,.-D , the daughter of John McDonald and Sarah McDiarmid, who moved to Liverpool, England, when Sister Petersen was four years old. She immigrated to Salt Lake City with her family in 1916 after they joined the Church in Liverpool. She and Elder Petersen were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Aug. 30, 1923. In January 1963 she accompanied Elder Petersen to Europe where they lived near London, England, until September 1965 while he presided over the West European Mission of the Church. musician, she accomplished served as organist in wards where she and Elder Petersen resided. She also wrote 13 books for children and young people, of which the best known are those containing stories for children from the Bible, Book of Mormon, and LDS Church history. Her book, "About Baptism," for children Eibout to baptized, has gone into ninny editions She held positions in the MIA and Relief Society and was a temple worker for many years. She is survived by Elder Petersen and two daughters, Dr. Marian Peterson, of Kansas City, Mo., and Richard (Peggy) Barton of Salt Lake City and tlire grandchildren. Parmley, served as general president of the Primary Association for 23 years before she was released in October 1971. She had served in the Primary for 17 years before she was appointed president of the association. She serves on four national committees of the Boy Scouts of America and also serves on the Western Region board and on the executive board of the Great Salt Lake Council of the BSA. She teaches the mother education lesson in the Colonial Hills Ward, Salt Lake Hillside Stake, and gives Ruiner-UbaGl rev!c-v-s as well as speeches to S ttrna...1,; f 1 is also a 3tudent. She is ;:nrolled in a New Testament class at the University of Utah Institute of Religion. Although she has done needlepoint for many years, she's taking a class to learn more stitches. "The most exciting thing I'm doing right now is writing a history of the Primary," she said. "I've often wondered about the past and how thim!s were done in the Primary."
